EWENNY GHOST WALK

'I did experience a few things: the first was when I went into the ladies toilets in the pub. I felt like I was being suffocated and couldn't breath.
Then when we went in to the building on the walk (dovecotte) I was being pulled back by something, there was no one behind me I also felt like I was sinking so I had to get out of there. My friend stood in the same spot as me when I left and something pulled her to. As we entered the woods the atmosphere changed I felt there was something evil there and that's why I said to Karl don't go any further down the path; whatever it was, wanted to scare us and maybe hurt one of us but between Karl and I we held them back.
I also felt the presence of a little girl but I think she is connected to Karl.'

Some of the feedback from our guests:
'Thankyou so much Karl and Michelle. Karl you are a legend, I could listen to you for hours. Thank you so much'
'By gate at the end of lane their was a white figure'
'Heard bells at top of hill before you mentioned them'
'Saw red lights before you mentioned the witch'
'Could not bear to walk on the right hand side of Blaen y Cwm'
'At first at the Blaen y Cwm mill I felt a small figure pass through me and it sent a shiver down my spine'
'I felt something push me and almost fell over'
'Every child heard the bells and the adults did not hear the bells'
'As soon as the story of the Gwrach was being told in the Blaen y Cwm burial lane, there was like shuffled footsteps the side of me and then it was just as if somebody was walking about, and I told Michelle who was besides me and then it just moved from the tree into the undergrowth or the side of me, and it was just like a weird nose, it was as if somebody was there and I flashed the torch and nobody was present, there was no reflection of animal eyes or nothing, there was nothing there'
Couple of things down the Combe (Blaen y Cwm), when you were giving your talk about the wreckers code I saw something flitting from one side of the path to the other about 100 yards further down, it happened three times the first time I saw it out of the corner of my eye a "hooded figure" or "Black shadow" crossed the path left to right , so I started to concentrate on that area of the path, it crossed again right to left then again left to right. Now the sceptical part of me says it was a tree branch blowing in the breeze but I was watching the branches blowing and of course they bow and go back to original position these ... shadows...crossed the path.
At the same time there was a noise a ..growl...that myself and the big fella heard across the river in the undergrowth. I'm familiar with the sounds the surf makes as it moves rocks on the beach and again it was a similar sound to that but not that sound (if that makes sense).

Some of our guests comments:
Many thanks for organising virtual walks’n’talks.
I have learned more about one of my Princly heroes, Owain Glyndwr.
I had not known how local his battles were.
Diolch.
Thanks for an entertaining Ghost Story evening via Zoom, Karl's enigmatic story telling brought to life the ghosts of the Vale of Glamorgan, the battles, the horses and the maps. When lock-down is over I will explore the areas covered - that's if you recommend it!
